La Leche League is here to support your family in your feeding journey! LLL Leaders are volunteer breastfeeding counsellors who have nursed their own children, are passionate about the value of human milk and provide support in their communities. Leaders may offer information and resources in-person and by phone, text, email, and social media. Leaders may run a local group and moderate mother-to-mother/parent-to-parent meetings. Many meetings are online and we welcome your participation around the world. Expect a warm welcome, acceptance and non-judgmental support when you contact LLL Leaders or access online support. We offer information and encouragement to everyone who needs it.

Online Support Groups
With thousands of groups around the world, we encourage you to connect with the LLL Leaders in your community or country who will have the most current knowledge of your local resources. However, you can also connect with our international community through online support groups.
La Leche League International (LLLI) has two breastfeeding support groups on Facebook where participants can ask questions and share experiences, and LLL Leaders offer information and resources. The purpose of these groups is to provide support to individual parents in nursing, pumping or offering expressed milk to their own babies. For urgent or time-sensitive questions, please contact a LLL Leader in your region (search here.)
When you request to join any LLLI/LLL Facebook group, please answer all the questions listed, or your membership may be delayed.
Please join our communities here:
There are also groups that have a specific focus, which are run by Leaders from various countries and provide support in a number of languages. They include:
La Leche League – Inducing Lactation & Relactation
Induced lactation is defined as breastfeeding without pregnancy. Yes, It is possible to nurse your child whether or not you birthed them.
Relactation is defined as the process of resuming breastfeeding after a period of no breastfeeding or very little breastfeeding.
When requesting to join it is imperative you answer the questions to help our group admins approve your request in a timely manner.
La Leche League for Moms of Twins/Multiples
LLL group for anyone nursing, pumping for, or providing any amount of human milk to their twins and higher-order multiples. Please respond to the questions asked when you request to join.
La Leche League – Tandem Nursing
This group offers breastfeeding support for those who are tandem nursing. Tandem nursing is defined as a “common term for breastfeeding siblings concurrently”, but we are also here to support those who are nursing through pregnancy and those who are planning on or considering tandem nursing. Please respond to the questions asked when you request to join.
La Leche League – Special Needs Breastfeeding Support
This group offers support for those nursing babies with a variety of special needs, not restricted to the usual challenges families may experience. Please respond to the questions asked when you request to join.
LLL entities and groups may have their own support groups on Facebook, WhatsApp and other platforms. You can find them by selecting an entry here.

Online Meetings
What happens at online LLL meetings?
Meetings are led by an accredited LLL Leader (breastfeeding counsellor). Similar to our in-person gatherings, online LLL meetings are all about mother-to-mother/parent-to-parent support, sharing experiences and exploring resources. Questions are welcome as is sharing what works for you. You will hear a whole range of ideas and experiences about feeding your baby. LLL embraces all parents who seek to offer human milk or nurture their babies at the breast/chest, appreciating that each parent is the expert of their own family and there are many ways to ensure a baby thrives.
While in-person support continues to be highly valued by LLL, there are aspects that we can appreciate about online meetings as well. We can’t offer you a drink or snack as you might find at an in-person LLL meeting, but during these times it can be a way to connect with other mothers and parents and seek evidenced-based information from Leaders from the safety of your own home.
LLL groups use a variety of online meeting platforms. Generally all you need to do is click/tap a link on your phone, laptop or computer. Sometimes a group will ask you to sign up in advance – if so they will provide simple instructions on how to do this, and maybe a password for logging on.
If your local group is not running online meetings, or you live in a region/country without an LLL presence, you will find many groups welcome mothers and parents from outside their locality – you can find meetings listed on LLL entity websites and related online resources.
If you can’t find a meeting to attend please contact us – info@llli.org.
